Meet baby Charley! I both love and take very seriously the responsibility of photographing a child who is in their first few days. This session took on an extra personal meaning for me though as Charley is the daughter of our dear friends BJ and Liz. BJ was the best man at our wedding in fact! It's an amazing thing to see people you've known for years, suddenly become parents...and adapt to it so quickly! Libby however (their 15 month old Lab mix) is still trying to figure things out. BJ and Liz are no strangers to kids though, as BJ is an elementary school Principal, and Liz a kindergarten teacher. Liz also has a stylish eye for home decor, which is apparent in these pictures. One of the many things I love about Chicago, are the constant dichotomies it offers. It's truly a unique city that presents a fully functioning urban environment, with rural tendencies. On this day, I escaped to 'The Farm' in Lincoln Park with Emmett and his family, for a country experience only about a mile away from downtown. Emmett showed up as one stylish little dude, happily sporting his various headwear. He absolutely loved being outside and was thrilled to play in the grass and explore some of the unique surroundings this area of Lincoln Park has to offer. Check out some previews of our day!

Such a small world! Rhys's mother Katie and I were high school classmates back in Ohio and have since met up here in Chicago ten years later to photograph her new family! Thankfully, this Fall has given us so many gorgeous days to enjoy. It's not too hot and not too cold, its the perfect temperature to enjoy the outdoors. The day I photographed Rhys and his family in Evanston was no exception. Rhys was very intrigued by his surroundings as we made our way through the park. We had a great time on our photo excursion and here are a few samples from our day!

How adorable is little Ava!? We went to a park in the Lincoln Square neighborhood of Chicago and it was the perfect fall day. The beautiful colors had just kicked in and it added so much to our shoot! I've had the pleasure of getting to know her parents Teresa and Tom over the past year as I also shot Ava's baptism. Meet Lucy, Rose and Clare! We had a beautiful fall day and went and had some fun at Garden Park in the Ravenswood - Lincoln Square neighborhoods of Chicago. It is a beautiful park and wonderful place to take your kids. There were six of us on this trek, and the three adults most definetly ran out of steam before the girls did. :-) Enjoy this preview from our day!
