Meet baby Charley! I both love and take very seriously the responsibility of photographing a child who is in their first few days. This session took on an extra personal meaning for me though as Charley is the daughter of our dear friends BJ and Liz. BJ was the best man at our wedding in fact! It's an amazing thing to see people you've known for years, suddenly become parents...and adapt to it so quickly! Libby however (their 15 month old Lab mix) is still trying to figure things out. BJ and Liz are no strangers to kids though, as BJ is an elementary school Principal, and Liz a kindergarten teacher. Liz also has a stylish eye for home decor, which is apparent in these pictures. My wife Christina and I are at the age (undisclosed) where many of our friends are beginning to have their first kids. So whenever we know someone who has a child and I have the opportunity to photograph them I'm truly honored. Doug and Lindsay, the parents of Poppy, are great friends of ours who will always hold a special place in our hearts. Doug was my roomate in Los Angeles and at the same time Christina and Lindsay were also roomates in LA! They both were also a big part of our recent wedding day. Doug is a television producer and Lindsay is a talented interior designer in the Pasadena area - Lindsay Reid Interior Design. When we were in the area for Thanksgiving, we were able to get together for Poppy's photoshoot!

Being from Ohio, I always welcome the opportunity to head back home to photograph many of the family and friends I know from the 20+ years I lived there. Even when I was living in Los Angeles, and now in Chicago, Ohio has always been home to me. I'm originally from a small town called Springboro, which is about 45 minutes north of Cincinnati, and 25 minutes south of Dayton. When I travel home to shoot, I'm usually in these areas, but am open to traveling to other locations within the state as well. My next trip back to the Cincinnati/Dayton area is October the 12th through the 17th. The fall colors will be turning and this is the perfect time to get those family photographs done for your Christmas cards!
