Recently, I was so incredibly honored to be apart of Lindsey & Matt's wedding day in Fountain Hills, Arizona at SunRidge Canyon Golf Course. Flying out to Phoenix for their weekend, I was unsure of what to expect, as I had never been to the Phoenix area (apparently golf is very popular out there). Although I knew Lindsey having worked together several years prior, I had never had the pleasure of meeting Matt, aside from chatting on the phone a bit. Now, I know as a photographer I'm not supposed to play 'favorites'...BUT, it's hard not to list Lindsey & Matt as one of the most awesome couples I've ever worked with. Meet Kristen & Ian! I was so stoked when Kristen & Ian hired me for both their engagement session, as well as their wedding! They'll be getting married at the Hotel Palomar in downtown Chicago in June! It's safe to say it will be a bit warmer in June for their wedding, then it was for their engagement shoot in January. :-) Kristen and I formulated this idea of a wonderful wintertime engagement shoot in downtown Chicago: snow on the ground, winter boots, holiday lights still up, etc. What we didn't plan on though...was the cold. It has been unseasonably warm here in Chicago this winter. For example it is almost 50 degrees outside today in the middle of February! That's unheard of.

Another day, another blog post and another engagement session. This time it is Jan and Susie who will be getting married in Cleveland in 2012! We began in Lincoln Park and made our way South along the water ending at sunset on North Avenue Beach. Jan and Susie share a common love of traveling and exploring and got engaged in South Africa! For the first blog post of 2011, meet Nic & Erin! They met back on Erin's 21st Birthday and are now getting married in Ft. Wayne, Indiana in August of 2012 at the downtown Courtyard! This is unique because I was a groomsmen earlier this year at the exact same hotel! For their engagement session, we headed over to Lincoln Park, and most specifically the new boardwalk extension of the Zoo. It made for some beautiful images. Here are a few samples from their day!

When I first began shooting weddings, I thought to myself, "I bet I will meet all sorts of wonderful couples who have such interesting stories to tell." Bryan and Michelle are the couple I imagined so long ago. I got know them a bit back in July when I shot their engagement session in downtown Chicago. They are as care-free and easy going of a couple as I've ever met. Some couples have such chemistry that you can't help but find yourself so intrigued by how naturally they interact with each other.

I met Mandy several years back when we were pages together at NBC - Universal in Burbank (think enneth on '30 Rock'; exact same uniform!) After moving to Chicago, we hadn't kept in touch as well as I would've hoped, but when I heard she had gotten engaged, I was very hopeful my phone would ring and it did! The very first time you see Mandy and Erick with each other, you immedieatly understand why they are together. They feed off of each others personalities so well and truly are perfect for one another. They were married at the beautiful Malibou Lake Mountain Club in Agoura Hills, CA.
